Pale coloured, dry and light, Manzanilla can only be produced in Sanlúcar de Barrameda. The alcohol content of the fina variety is the lowest among all wines from the Jerez area, making it the ideal accompaniment for tapas and snacks.
Manzanilla is aged under flor yeast in oak barrels stored in the numerous historic bodegas found across the town, with such celebrated brand names as Barbadillo, La Gitana and Pedro Romero.
Many bodegas are open to the public and offer multilingual guided tours. The Hotel Barrameda can organize reservations for groups and individuals.
